It looks tide are turning, Russians are being given tough time in Ukraine. Russians are losing soldiers and precious battle tanks Every day. Azov battalion are giving tough time on every front and even counter attacking various positions and retake territories which are being lost. Despite strong opposition Russia is not giving up and every passing day risk of the use of nuclear and chemical attack are rising.

In Syrian war where different powers fight for influence and world saw what the human and infrastructure cost was, it looks like history is repeating itself in Ukraine. Ideologically different groups emerged and they fought for different objectives. Historically Syria is being divided into sunni and shia muslims and this natural divide is used by powers for influence.

Proxy wars is a new destabilizing concept and is widely used in Different countries. Russians and American have experience in proxy wars and old Terminology of cold wars is being diminishing. The important question which arise here, Is Proxy wars can convert into all world wars? Is world powers think about proxy wars being converted to world wars?

 

Strong Russian stand can lead to nuclear war/chemical wars

At first days of war between Russia and Ukraine, it looks Russians can take full or at least half of Ukraine very easily but due to help coming from western powers it looks like it is not so easy now. It is fact that no matter what cost it take Russia is pursuing to achieve its objectives and this strong Russian stand can lead to such consequences which no one is thought of.  Foreign Minister for Russia said

 “the risk of nuclear war should not be underestimated”.

And accused NATO of pouring oil on fire.

 

US, NATO and western countries supporting Ukraine

Since the start of invasion, US has offered $3.7 billion in military aid to Ukraine. On which Russia protests. On 1^st march, the United Nations launched coordinated emergency appeals totalling $1.7 billion to provide emergency humanitarian assistance to people in Ukraine and refugees in neighbouring countries.

The Prime Minister set out new military aid and an additional $500 million World Bank guarantee to support Ukraine’s economy. In addition to that, 120 armoured vehicles and new anti-ship missile systems is also being provided. This is in addition to the £100 million worth of high-grade military equipment, including more Starstreak anti-aircraft missiles, another 800 anti-tank missiles, and high-tech loitering munitions for precision strikes.

 German government will send 1,000 anti-tank weapons and 500 Stinger anti-aircraft defense systems to Ukraine. The government has also authorized the Netherlands to send Ukraine 400 rocket-propelled grenade launchers.

A brief Summary

Although efforts are going on to control Russian invasion but balance should be Maintain in order to not escalate tensions beyond as if Russians have to fight long fights to achieve its objective greater the risk of nuclear and chemical attacks.

Face saving should be given as not be further escalate tensions beyond Ukraine borders. Western countries and rest of the world should not relay on Russian trade as it can be used any time against him. Should not be keep proxy in order to maintain long term peace and stability.
